Met Studio are an
international company with
an enviable reputation for
creativity, innovation and
efficient delivery of
ground-breaking visitor
experiences worldwide - from
corporate venues to museums,
exhibitions and zoos. They
approached Inbay via a
referral from an existing
client in January 07 looking
for a company wide IT
upgrade. Their existing
system was due for renewal
and they had a number of
troublesome IT issues that
needed addressing. They were
unhappy with their current
supplier and were looking
for someone with a holistic
approach to their total IT
environment which includes
both Mac and PC workstations
and servers.
Met Studio's prime
requirements were:

critical data

back-up system

* Software upgrades to bring
software up to current
levels
* Integration of a new
high-spec PC workstation and
new Mac workstations
* Ongoing management &
support of the entire
network infrastructure
To achieve the above aims,
we worked closely with Met
Studio to gain a full
understanding of their
needs, expectations and
method of working. We have
many years' experience in
the integration of
multi-platform systems and
are not tied to any
particular vendor; therefore
we were able to devise a
tailored upgrade plan taking
their future IT requirements
over the next 3-5 years into
account.
Having reviewed several
options we agreed a final
specification to facilitate
shared email, calendars and
contacts and secure back-up;
a 2Tb data storage RAID
array used for centralised
data storage; faster network
speeds via a gigabit switch;
a new streamlined network
cabinet and general network
cable tidy-up.
In addition to this we
proposed the installation of
a secure wireless network
for internal use and a
Mac-friendly VPN solution
for secure out-of-office
working. The installation
was scheduled to take place
in planned phases over a 2
week period in order to
minimise disruption. On
completion and as part of
our after-sales service we
followed up with a full
debrief meeting with Met, a
user guide to the new system
and 30 days free support.
Inbay now manage Met
Studio's entire network
infrastructure as part of
our comprehensive IT
Management contract which
includes remote server and
back-up monitoring;
maintenance and support for
all IT equipment; telephone,
remote and onsite emergency
support; quarterly review
meetings and a free annual
IT audit.
