Inbay urge MSPs globally to audit RMM platforms following Kaseya cyberattack

Kaseya’s VSA product has unfortunately been the victim of the single biggest global ransomware attack on record. REvil ransomware has set a price for decrypting all systems locked during the Kaseya supply-chain attack. The gang wants $70 million in Bitcoin for the tool that allows all affected businesses to recover their files.

Customers of multiple MSPs have been impacted by the attack with REvil ransomware encrypting networks of at least 1,000 businesses across the world.

Thankfully, Kaseya’s security, support, R&D, communications, and customer teams continue to work around the clock in all geographies to resolve the issue and restore their customers to service. Kaseya plan to start the restoration process to bring their datacenters online by the end of day on July 5th local time (UTC). Track this URL from Kaseya for official ongoing updates from the company.

MSP’s globally rely on their RMM platform to remotely monitor and manage their client’s IT infrastructure.  A well utilised and optimised RMM platform is essential for a successful MSP business as it drives technician efficiency and improves their bottom line. But, how secure is your RMM platform? When was the last time you had it serviced? Is it even configured correctly?

You might want to ask your MSP business the following questions:

  • Are your client’s devices being monitored correctly?
  • Could you be missing critical alerts?
  • Are your engineers wasting time sifting through white noise issues?
  • Are your clients secure?

As a Datto RMM and N-able N-central certified partner, Inbay offer a unique audit and fine-tune service to quickly and easily identify and optimise key areas of your platform. With Inbay’s fine-tune audit we can:

  • Identify mistakes and misconfigurations in your RMM platform.
  • Reduce the white noise and ensure your technical engineers are focussed on alerts that really matter.
  • Provide you with a detailed remediation plan to help you get the most out of your platform.
  • Review and update security

Inbay’s RMM audit allows you to focus on what really matters, providing the very best service to your customers.
